Detox : Inside & Out
An anti-inflammatory diet is essential for healthy and glowy skin, especially if you’re an individual who struggles with acne and rosacea flare-ups (both fired up by inflammation). The old saying "beauty is more than skin deep" has never been truer than when describing the correlation between diet/lifestyle and these particular skin conditions. This type of diet typically excludes pro-inflammatory products like foods high in processed sugar, saturated fats (fried foods), as well as dairy. Anti-inflammatory or alkaline diet will also encourage consumption of nutri-dense foods such as dark leafy greens (accelerates deacidification and restoration of PH level in one's body + promotes healthy digestive tract), berries and other super-foods for an antioxidant boost, as well as good sources of omega-3 fatty acids like chia seeds ( inflammation-fighting, promotes skin hydration from inside). As well as a general increase in fruits/veggie consumption and adequate hydration. The easiest way to follow those main guidelines on my Rosacea fighting journey is to have a green smoothie in the morning. Today I started my skin detox with a smoothie that consisted of lots of kale, banana, blueberries, flax seeds as well as açai and maca powders. Delish!
And when it comes to the "outside" part of the detox it couldn't be simpler with Brick Skincare Cocoa Bean Mask supercharged with Odacite Ap+P concentrate! Loaded with antioxidants, this mask protects the skin against aging and harmful free radicals. With ingredients like wild yam root, maca root, turmeric, and ginger root it combines to fight inflammation, strengthen skin, reduce scarring, and calm the skin. Plus, it smells amazing!
Do you believe in the inside & out approach? Have you personally noticed your diet affecting your skin a negative/positive way? I have noticed an huge difference myself!
